Soufiane Biskouane

Born in 1988 in Marrakech and originally from Essaouira, Soufiane Biskouane grew up immersed in the Gnawa musical tradition from an early age. In 2004, he began his training under several renowned Maâlems, including Abas Baska, Mahjoub Khalmous and Abdellatif Makhzoumi. Through this apprenticeship, he developed a strong artistic identity rooted in discipline, transmission and respect for this ancestral art. He made his stage debut in 2012, marking the beginning of his professional journey. Since then, he has continued to perform, with a constant commitment to promoting and sharing Gnawa music. Balancing fidelity to tradition with personal dedication, Soufiane Biskouane is part of a new generation of artists committed to preserving and carrying forward this living heritage.
