RICHARD BONA

Richard Bona is a multi-award-winning musician who has established himself as one of the most influential bassists, composers, and performers on the international scene. Originally from Cameroon, he has developed a unique musical language, deeply rooted in his African heritage yet open to the wider world.

His music blends tradition, jazz, and popular music in a fluid style, carried by a distinctive voice and a keen sense of melody. Through his projects, he explores the interplay between cultures, whilst addressing the realities and imaginations of the African continent.

A regular collaborator with major figures such as Herbie Hancock, Quincy Jones, and Pat Metheny, Richard Bona continues on a constantly evolving path, balancing creation, the transmission of traditions and new musical explorations on an international scale.
