Essaouira-native Mohamed Derouich is a guitarist and composer who has developed a musical approach based on listening, space and resonance. His music focuses on the essential, with each sound emerging with precision, in a quest for accuracy and depth.

He constructs a sober and introspective language, influenced by modal traditions and contemporary jazz, navigating between open structures and free forms. Improvisation, which he conceives as a presence and a dialogue with sound, plays a central role.

Through his collaborations with artists such as Ibrahim Maalouf, Karim Ziad, and Bojan Z, he establishes a sensitive compositional style, at the edge of silence and vibration.
