Born in 1991 in Marrakech, Mohamed Abrichih, known by his stage name Sam, comes from a Gnaoua lineage and is the son of Maâlem Mustapha Sam. Initiated at an early age, he began his training in 2001 under the guidance of several renowned masters, including his father, as well as Maâlems Mohamed Kouir and Hassan Zekaghi. Over the years, he has developed a strong practice shaped by tradition and stage experience. He has performed at numerous Gnawa festivals in Morocco — notably in Marrakech, Rabat and Casablanca — as well as internationally, particularly in the United Arab Emirates. Through his journey, Mohamed Abrichih continues the Gnaoua tradition while gradually establishing himself among the new generation of maâlems.
