Each year, the Gnaoua and World Music Festival hosts an artistic residency bringing together international musicians and Gnaoua artists. This preparatory period allows the artists to meet, exchange ideas, and prepare the performances to be presented during the Festival.

Together, they explore the Gnaoua repertoire, revisit some of its classics, and gradually build a shared musical dialogue. The musicians work as a true ensemble, seeking connections between their respective musical worlds before bringing them to the stage.

In the artistic directors’ vision, this residency is part of a broader programming concept: each edition of the Festival is conceived as a new album, composed of encounters, new works, and unique musical dialogues.
