MAÂLEM ABDELKBIR KBIBER

Born in 1946, Abdelkebir Benseloum, also known as Abdelkebir Kbiber, has performed with numerous artists, including the group B’net Houwariyat in Marrakech. He has also developed an international career, touring in the Netherlands, France, Italy, Germany and Spain, while participating in several festivals across Morocco, notably in Agadir, Rabat and Marrakech. His participation in the Gnaoua and World Music Festival of Essaouira is always a highlight, where he fully asserts his art, whether in acoustic settings, such as in 2007, or in memorable fusion performances. This is exemplified by his performance during the 12th edition, where Réunion jazz, Brazilian and Moroccan percussion blended in perfect harmony with the guembri and crotales, igniting the audience at the Moulay Hassan stage.
