Rokia Koné is one of Mali’s most beloved and dynamic voices. Born in Ségou, heart of the Bamana kingdom, she draws from deep griot roots.

Her soaring vocals rise above Mande guitar and traditional percussion, shifting effortlessly from joy to sorrow, tenderness to power. Honed in Bamako’s late-night music clubs, her improvisational skills shine.

She joined Les Amazones d’Afrique in 2017, using music to fight for gender equality. Her debut album BAMANAN, produced with Jacknife Lee, earned international acclaim,

including two AFRIMA nominations and a New York Times Critic’s Pick. Now, she returns to her roots with a bold, griot-infused sound. Rokia Koné is an emerging legend, carrying tradition into the future.
