Created in 2013 by Accords Croisés director Saïd Assadi, the Nishtiman Project brings together Kurdish musicians from Iraq, Iran, and Turkey. The group defends an artistic vision of Kurdish culture, free of geopolitical divisions. Nishtiman, the Kurdish word for homeland, embodies this dream of unity through music.
The group draws from the musical traditions of Kurdistan’s different regions, blending ancient instruments (tanbur, kamanché, daf, duduk) with contemporary arrangements. Through albums such as Kurdistan, Kobane, and Improvisations, they explore the common roots of a shattered people-between memory, resistance and hope.
Acclaimed on international stages, Nishtiman Project’s music is committed and profound, reflecting an identity in search of recognition and universality.
