MAÂLEM KHALID CHERBADOU

Born in 1985 in Essaouira, Maâlem Khalid Cherbadou is a Gnaoua artist deeply rooted in the Souiri tradition. He began his artistic career in 2001 alongside such great masters as Maâlem Allal Soudani, Maâlem Mahmoud, and Maâlem Abdeslam Alikkane. His career has led him to collaborate with eminent national artists such as Jbara, as well as many international musicians. Maâlem Khalid has taken part in several Essaouira Gnaoua Festivals, as well as other events in Morocco and abroad. He also took part in the Festival des Jeunes Talents Gnaoua in 2005, 2006, and 2008. He actively contributes to the transmission and promotion of Gnaoua art, dance, and workshops.
