Mohamed Amine Nafiaa, better known by his stage name Amine Daoudi, was born in Marrakech in 1986. From an early age, he was immersed in the richness of the Gnaoua musical tradition. In 1997, he began his apprenticeship with several renowned Maâlems: Ahmed Baqbou, Mustapha Baqbou, Mohamed Kouyou, Mahjoub, Abdelkebir, and Aziz. Each of these mentors helped to forge his artistic identity, and Amine Daoudi soon attracted attention for the quality of his deep, gravelly voice. In 2004, he made his stage debut, and over the years, Amine has enjoyed an increasing number of artistic encounters and performances.
In 2019, he won the Essaouira Festival des Jeunes Talents Gnaoua, a renowned distinction for someone whose career had begun a few years earlier in Marrakech, where he had already won the red city’s Festival des Jeunes Talents Gnaoua.
Combining tradition and modernity, he has won acclaim both in Morocco and abroad, performing in Switzerland, France, and Spain, helping to spread Gnaoua heritage beyond the country’s borders.
