a voice and a bridge between worlds

KYA LOUM

With a touch of blues, rock, soul and jazz, Kya Loum’s voice compels attention. Powerful, raucous, or sweet, she conveys deep emotions while also affirming a unique musical identity. She is multilingual, singing in French, English and Wolof, weaving together stories both personal and universal.

Her distinctive style-a mix of African and universal-has taken her all around the world. Her always-present guitar accompanies her lyrics with the same intensity. Kya Loum is more than an artist, she is a connection between cultures, building bridges between continents.

She participated in Mbokka Project, a collective project led by Aziz Sahmaoui and Afrikayna, reuniting artists from Morocco, Senegal, Mali, Côte d’Ivoire and elsewhere. She also appeared on the Gnaoua Festival tour, brilliantly merging Gnaoua rhythms and modern influences with Mehdi Qamoum in Casablanca.
