FEHD BENCHEMSI & THE LALLAS

Fehd Benchemsi is a Moroccan artist with a passion for the ancestral sounds of Gnaoua music, a spiritual heritage born of the blending of sub-Saharan African and Moroccan cultures. As a multi-instrumentalist and singer, he has adopted this tradition and given it a bold, contemporary interpretation.

While in Los Angeles, his career took on a new dimension. There he collaborated with jazz, soul, and gospel musicians, enriching his musical palette and affirming his artistic singularity.

Back in Morocco, he founded Fehd Benchemsi & The Lallas, a group made up of female musicians from a variety of backgrounds. Together, they revisit Gnaoua music through a resolutely contemporary approach.

Their music, both rooted and innovative, builds a bridge between the traditions of southern Morocco and the sounds of the world, captivating audiences of all ages.
