Sanaa Marahati

Sanaa Marahati is one of the most recognised voices of malhoun and gharnati. Born in Sefrou in 1984, she was raised in a family that loved traditional Moroccan songs. At a very young age, she naturally the happiness of traditional sounds and soon made music her passion. After studies at the Conservatoire de musique, Sanaa Maharati began her career with festivals such as those of Fez, Rabat, and Tafilalet. In 1999, she won first prize for best interpretation for young people of any nationality, as well as other international awards. Sanaa Marahati graduated with a degree in French linguistics and a masters in socio-linguistics. This significant and talented young woman has learned to shine in this hard-access art form.  The wealth of her repertoire resides in the alliance of Andalusian, Gharnati, Malhoun, Samaa, Sufi music and the great heritage of Jewish Moroccans. She has six albums to her name, and has performed in over a hundred public musical events in Morocco and internationally.
