THE DISCUSSION TREE

The discussion Treeis one of the not-to-be missed events of the Gnaoua Festival. Created in 2006 this Forum for dialogue and interchange is held every afternoon at 05 :00 pm at the headquarters of the Franco-Moroccan Alliance rue Lalouj.Around coffee or tea the Gnaouaartists and world music guests freely discuss matters in a friendly atmosphere.In turn, the public asks questions and partakes in the debate in a spirit of true fraternity.The Forumhas been hosted for two years by the EmmanuelleHonorin and Maria Moukrimtandem. Emmanuelle Honorin, music critic and journalist who is behind this singular initiative will moderate the round tables ofthe discussion Tree. She is also the programmer for multi-cultural stages such as « Contradanza » and « Creole Ball at Belleville” in Paris. Her latest book « Piazolla, the tango of immoderation » was published by Demi-lune in 2011.

At her side will be Moroccan journalist Maria Moukrim. Maria is a native of Essaouira and journalist known for her commitment and major investigations.  She is a founding member of the Network of Women Journalists and President of the Moroccan Association of investigative journalism. Former editor in chief of the weekly Al Ayam, in 2011 Maria Moukrim launched her own electronic newspaper called "febrayer.com".
